If you don’t want to be sad right now or feel a jolt of empathy in your heart or in your stomach, don’t watch this.
Human owners abandon their dogs without a second thought all the time, just leaving their animals to fend for themselves in some city area or place where they can’t properly find food and shelter, sacrificing them to be eventually rounded up and put to sleep at the vet’s if nobody wants to give the dog a home.
Recently a sad story that should make anyone feel something happened, in which a six year old dog named AJ cried and was left heart-broken after being abandoned at Carson Animal Shelter in California, with his brother Toby.
The heartbreaking video reminds you of how the most perfectly innocent, pure young child might feel sadness and confusion if they couldn’t find their parents in a supermarket or something like that.

If you don’t think dogs can feel emotions the way we do, think again. The unspeakable sadness was summarized by one article:
“Thee traumatised pit bull and Labrador Retriever mix appeared deeply affected by his ordeal, and shelter workers released footage of him appearing to weep as he cowered confused and homesick in a strange new kennel. The footage shows AJ’s lovely eyes brimming with tears, his face contorted with stress and agitation. A woman’s voice can be heard trying to soothe him, but to no avail.”
The animal shelter in Carson made a Facebook post, hopefully helping to find a new home for AJ and Toby, describing how they had a difficult time adjusting to being placed in the equivalent of animal foster care. According to their post:
“Sweet AJ is beautiful and he has amazing energy and he was surrendered with his beautiful brother TOBY. They did great walking on a leash next to each other when they came in but now they are confused and alone and missing each other and home. They need help.”
Saving Carson Shelter Dogs also added:
“AJ is 100% pure sweet, gentle, loving beauty, he loves other dogs and he is missing his brother, He is shutting down, he has a cold and he needs your help”
Over five million people opened their hearts to this beautiful, poor doggy, as the video of AJ crying went viral.
It became almost certain that thanks to just a little bit of empathy on the behalf of millions of people, that someone would adopt these two doggies. Then, someone did: the dogs are saved.
Animal lovers run deep and can be found everywhere because this kind of connection to that animal seems to be very deeply rooted in human beings.
The empathy was a torrential downpour, with one person commenting:
“I cannot read this. Just seeing that poor dog with tears in my eyes makes me want to cry, then I’m feeling sad and depressed. Some people don’t understand that dogs have feelings just like us.”
Another comment read:
“don’t think he realises the extent of what’s happened but he’s certainly upset by it. Breaks my heart.”
Now a big goofy grin covers the face of this doggy, as a family decided to adopt both AJ And Toby together, so the bonded brother canines never have to be separated.
This beauty touched the hearts of a lot of people and today he was lucky enough to take his FREEDOM Walk out of the Shelter, even while he is struggling with a cold. He was Rescued and we are hoping tomorrow that Rescue will work with the different Rescue that is saving his Bonded Brother TOBY, so they can be reunited. Both have been seriously depressed since they were separated… Happy life sweet AJ <3PHOTO: https://www.facebook.com/savingcarsonshelterdogs/photos/a.219655291540446.1073741846.171850219654287/536011676571471/?type=3&theater
